About
1. Purpose
Cohutta Homeschool Co-op, LLC is a private, parent-led cooperative designed to provide academic and enrichment opportunities for homeschool families. The Co-op is not a school and does not assume legal responsibility for a child’s education. Parents remain the child’s primary instructors in accordance with O.C.G.A. §20-2-690 (Georgia Homeschool Law).
2. Parent Responsibility
• The Parent affirms that they have filed or will file the Declaration of Intent to Homeschool with the Georgia Department of Education as required by law.
• The Parent retains full responsibility for maintaining attendance, testing, and academic records.
• The Parent understands that participation in the Co-op does not fulfill Georgia’s compulsory education requirements unless the Parent has independently complied with homeschool law.
3. Co-op Role
• The Co-op provides group classes, academic instruction, and enrichment activities to supplement home education.
• Classes may include, but are not limited to: math, reading, science, art, physical education, and social development.
• The Co-op may offer recommendations, resources but final curriculum decisions rest solely with the Parent. Our co-op is welcome to all ages K-18.
4. Fees and Payments
The Parent agrees to pay a program fee per child, unless otherwise specified in writing.
• Fees cover facility use, instructional materials and insurance.
• Payments are non-refundable
• Fees are not tuition, and payment does not constitute school enrollment.
